In the midst of a fight with MetalSeadramon, Whamon comes to the rescue of the Digidestined. As Whamon searches for a safe place to take the kids and their Digimon, they ask him how the Dark Masters came about. But all Whamon knows about the situation is that MetalSeadramon appeared soon after the Digital World began to warp and quickly took control of the sea. Though Tai's discouraged at first, Kari assures him they'll find a way to beat all of the Dark Masters. Meanwhile, MetalSeadramon sends a group of Divermon to find the Digidestined.

Whamon stops to rest in a bay. Accompanied by Matt's harmonica, Gatomon sings the blues about how hungry she is for fish (I thought it was cute). Unfortunately, she only catches enough for herself. Palmon steps in and catches a huge fish that Agumon swallows whole.

Tai, Matt, and Izzy talk about the Dark Masters. Izzy believes WarGreymon can defeat them, as he's a Dramon-destroyer (meaning the weapons on WarGreymon's arms are especially effective against Dramon-type digimon).

Gomamon learns from a school of fish that Divermon are in the area and alerts the Digidestined. Everyone jumps inside Whamon, and he dives for the ocean floor. Izzy reroutes Whamon's sensory data to his laptop, so everyone can see what Whamon sees as they run from MetalSeadramon. The Divermon discover Whamon and attack. Tai wants to fight, but Whamon refuses to turn, instead he swims so deep that the Divermon can't handle the pressure and give up.

Izzy has Kari blow her whistle as hard as she can--the sound acts like sonar, bouncing off the walls of the chasm--which leads to the discovery of a tunnel that will lead the group to land. Just when it seems the Digidestined are out of danger, MetalSeadramon catches up to them. Whamon and MetalSeadramon race to the surface, and the battle begins!

Agumon warp digivolves while the rest of the group heads for the shore. Ikakkumon digivolves to Zudomon and fights the Divermon. The episode ends with WarGreymon trapped between MetalSeadramon's jaws. Will he survive?
