The encounter with Devimon has left Tai and Agumon stranded on a frozen island. As luck would have it, Tai's clothes land nearby, and Agumon is able to warm them up (maybe a little too much) using his pepper breath. Just as the two were thinking things are very quiet, they are attacked by Frigimon, a snowman-like digimon who is normally very kind. When Agumon sees the black gear embedded in Frigimon's back, he knows they are in trouble. Using Tai's excellent soccer ability, Agumon is kicked right onto Frigimon's back. Another round of pepper breath, and the black gear disintegrates. Frigimon is back to normal! Now that he is kind again, the large digimon tells Tai that he recalls seeing another boy and a Gabumon fall on another island a distance away. "How are they going to get there? Tai wonders. Frigimon offers to use his subzero ice punch to freeze the water so they can make it over to their friends.

Meanwhile, on the other frigid island, Matt and Gabumon search desperately for T.K. Unfortunately, Matt has caught a cold and the blizzard isn't helping. Gabumon finds a cave and insists Matt sit before a fire while he goes looking for T.K. Once Gabumon is gone, Matt feels guilty. "T.K. is my brother. I should be the one looking for him," he thinks while coughing uncontrollably. Going against Gabumon's wishes, the sick young man heads out into the cold hoping to find his brother.

The journey is slow for Tai, Agumon, and Frigimon. The island seems to drift further and further away, and Tai and Agumon are getting tired. Frigimon lifts them both on his shoulders and continues to make his way using the frozen path.

The scene switches to Gabumon, who is returning empty handed (no T.K.) when he spots Matt unconscious and frozen in the snow. The digimon drags the boy back to the cave. He knows he must do something or Matt will freeze to death. He removes his fur to warm the boy and hides behind a rock for the night. Unbeknownst to them, something evil is lurking outside.

The next morning, the blizzard is over. Frigimon has made it to the island, and Tai is overjoyed. They spot Matt's bed and search for them. At the same time, Matt has awakened much healthier, but now Gabumon has caught a cold. Matt thanks him for letting him use his fur. Just then, they hear Tai and Agumon calling them. It's a happy reunion until Matt gets angry with Tai. The two disagree on their priorities and engage in a fist fight. Just as Tai has Matt pinned and is about to strike a punch, a tearful Matt explains how worried he is for T.K. Tai holds back understanding his friend's feelings. Suddenly the ground crumples beneath them. Tai breaks their fall by grabbing a branch protruding from the mountain. Agumon and Gabumon try to help, but Mojyamon attacks sending all four plummeting to their imminent death. Lucky for them, Frigimon (who had left earlier in search of something) was below and broke their fall. He has brought food and a cold remedy for Gabumon.

As they are eating, Mojyamon attacks again. Frigimon takes him on while Agumon and Gabumon digivolve. Garurumon, Greymon, and Frigimon are able to remove the black gear from Mojyamon. However, during the fight, they uncovered a mountain of black gears. Even though they tried to destroy them, the gears regenerated. Not only that,...but Tai noticed their island is heading back to Infinity Mountain and Devimon. The boys agree to trust and work together. In his heart, Matt believes that with Patamon's help, T.K. will be ok.
